Estimate Your Costs
Review Cheyney鈥檚 Cost of Attendance to understand your estimated tuition, housing, meals, and other expenses. Use the Net Price Calculator for a personalized estimate.
Submit Your FAFSA
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year to be considered for federal, state, and institutional aid. Be sure to include Cheyney鈥檚 school code.
Verification (If Selected)
Some students are chosen for a standard verification process to confirm FAFSA details. You鈥檒l be contacted if additional documentation is needed.
Review Your Award
Once processing is complete, you鈥檒l receive your Financial Aid Award Notification outlining your grants, scholarships, loans, or work study eligibility.
Accept and Maintain Your Aid
Follow instructions to accept your awards. Remember鈥攎aintaining satisfactory academic progress (SAP) is required to keep your aid for future semesters.
Applying for Financial Aid
Every student should apply for financial aid. To do so, you will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). And when you do, it is important to select 羞羞视频 (School Code: 003317) to submit your information to Cheyney. You can complete the FAFSA as early as October 1 for the upcoming academic year.
Follow these steps to begin the aid application process:听
- Apply for Federal Aid 鈥鈥疍EADLINE APRIL 1st for Returning Student and DEADLINE JUNE 1st for New Students听
- If this is the first time that you are applying for financial aid for college, you will need to create an FSA ID for both student, biological, or adoptive听 parent/contributor at鈥 . Then select 鈥淕et Started鈥. Please maintain your FSA ID in a safe place. You will need it each year which you apply for financial aid for college.听
- File your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at鈥.听
- List 羞羞视频, Federal Code 003317.听听听
- Pennsylvania residents are encouraged to list 羞羞视频 as the first school, as it pertains to Pennsylvania State Grant Eligibility.听听
- While completing the FAFSA, consent is required to retrieve tax income data.听 This could include both yours and your parents, if applicable.听
- Apply for State Aid 鈥撯DEADLINE MAY 1st听
- If you are a Pennsylvania resident, refer to the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) site for details on eligibility and criteria for applying for state scholarships. 听听
- When completing your FAFSA, be sure to list 羞羞视频 first, to ensure receipt of state funding.听
- If you are a resident of another state, please refer to your State鈥檚 Financial Aid Agency for instructions on applying for their state grant and transferability of funds to 羞羞视频.听
- Review your Financial Aid Award Letter. Please note that first time students receive a copy mailed to their home address.听
- View additional outstanding requirements on your portal, visit for items that might need to be submitted to the Office of Student Financial Services to finalize your financial aid award.听

Optional Financial Aid Steps if you need funding beyond a Grant
- Complete Entrance Loan Counseling at鈥.听
- Complete the Master Promissory Note (MPN) for a Direct Loan for Subsidized and/or Unsubsidized Loans .听
- Visit and click the 鈥淟earn More鈥 option.听
- Click on 鈥淟og IN to Start鈥 and complete the application.听
- Parents must also complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN).听 At the end of the PLUS application, there is a link to Complete the PLUS Loan (MPN). Click the link and follow the instructions for completing the MPN requirements.听听
Private Education Loans, also known as Alternative Loans, are credit-based loans that can help bridge the gap between the actual cost of your education and the amount of your other financial aid funds. Private loans are offered by private lenders and should only be considered after exhausting all other sources of funding 鈥 including federal loans.听
