As a part of the State System鈥檚 capital project process, 羞羞视频 received a capital appropriation of $48 million to replace its outdated gymnasium,听Cope Hall, which was 产耻颈濒迟听over 60 years ago. The original capital request predated the current Administration. The current Administration has worked diligently with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania鈥檚 Department of General Services to repurpose the capital funds to create a听尘耻濒迟颈耻蝉别听sports complex on Cheyney鈥檚 campus. With student input on design elements and the involvement of other members of the Cheyney community, the new sports complex is poised to听provide Cheyney students with more options in terms of athletic, recreational, and intramural activities, as well as additional concurrent use opportunities,听than Cope Hall currently provides.听

听The revised capital project, already underway, will consist of two听newly-产耻颈濒迟听indoor facilities鈥攐ne will feature ten basketball courts and a competitive show听hardwood听court听and听the other听will house a full-size听artificial听turf playing field鈥攁long with new locker, gym,听and听concessions facilities.听The听sprawling complex will also听include听a听new听outdoor听grass football field surrounded by an eight-lane track.听This will enable Cheyney to host听track tournaments, which it is currently unable to do with its听current听dilapidated听field and听six-track lane.听There will also听potentially听be听two or three听other outdoor turf/grass听fields听(contingent听on funding), as听well听as听newly updated听outdoor tennis and basketball courts.听听

This will be a multi-sports facility where听Cheyney听students will learn facilities management, sports training, food service, and hospitality and have a first-class development for their use.听The University听also听will听be able to听generate revenues from the facilities听and听fields听when not in use by Cheyney students (e.g.,听hosting听summer basketball camps).听

You cannot听mention听羞羞视频鈥檚听most prized, history–making achievements in sports听without听including听Cope听Hall.听To ensure听we听always remember听its significance, we plan to听celebrate and听honor听this legendary hall听in various ways,听one of听which听includes incorporating physical elements of听Cope听into the new听sports complex,听among other听plans.听

Without a doubt,听Cope Hall is an integral piece of Cheyney history听and听can听never听be erased from听our听legacy.听
