Week of Welcome, or WoW Week, is designed to help new and transfer students make a confident transition into college life and get connected to the Cheyney community from day one.
Throughout the week, you’ll meet the people who will support you, explore campus resources, build connections with fellow students, and take part in experiences designed to prepare you for life inside and outside the classroom. From navigating campus and discovering support services to workshops, activities, and opportunities to get involved, WoW Week is your introduction to what it means to be CheyneyMade.

5:00 PM- 6:45 PM | Dinner with the Pack
Agenda: Take students from the residence halls to the cafe for their first Cheyney Dinner. Wolf Guide leaders will sit and chat with the freshman and get to know them.
6:45 PM – 7:00 PM | Group Split (Wolf Guides)
Agenda: Wolf Guides will distribute passports. Leads and Co-lead will stamp the residents’ passport with the color of their group for the week.

7:00 PM- 7:45 PM | Mandatory Housing Meeting
Agenda: This meeting is designed to ensure that all new residents understand the expectations and rules for living on campus. This includes student conduct policies, Roommate etiquette, and community living standards. Attendance is mandatory to maintain housing eligibility. (Facilitated by the Housing Office.)

7:45 PM – 8:00 PM | Wolf Round Up
Agenda: This initial round up will be how freshmen will be identified for their groups. Leads and Co- leads will ask for reflection and discuss plan for next day.

9:30 PM- 11:30 PM | Lava lounge
Agenda: Provide freshmen with a calm and welcoming environment where they can intentionally set goals with their new peers.

9:15 AM – 11:15 AM | The Pack Perspective/ Campus Tour
Agenda: Break the groups up into rotating peer panels (25 minutes per session) across campus to discuss life as a college student and other important topics. The purpose of the tour is to ensure that the new students are familiar with campus and prepared for their first day of class.

Agenda: stopping into different Residential Halls to see how the rooms are decorated and judge the room doors.

Agenda: This session is designed to help freshman create or strengthen their first professional resume while learning the fundamentals of career readiness.

Agenda: Freshman will learn how to create and confidently deliver a 30-60 second introduction about who they’re, what they study, and their career aspirations.

12:00 PM – 1:15 PM | Lunch Mixer with Faculty & Staff
Agenda: This interactive networking luncheon gives incoming freshmen the opportunity to meet faculty members and university staff.

1:30 PM – 2:00 PM | Mid-Week Wolf Check-in
Agenda: Freshman will connect with their groups to reflect on their experiences. Leads/ Co-Leads will do an ice breaker and discuss plans for the rest of the week.

Agenda: Learn how to dress for every opportunity! Our fashion show will help our new students understand the difference between casual, business casual, business professional, and formal attire so they can make a positive first impression wherever they go.
9:00 PM – 11:30 PM | Movie Night On the Lawn
Agenda: Freshmen are invited to bring a blanket or chair and enjoy a night on the lawn watching a featured movie.

Agenda: A hands-on community service project where freshmen will work together to package stuffed animals and leave encouraging messages for children in local hospitals, community organizations, and foster care programs.

Agenda: Freshman will enjoy an afternoon filled with games, music, food and friendly competition while connecting with other freshman and Wolf-Guides.

Agenda: An opportunity to build connections, encourage self- confidence, and create a welcoming environment. Wolf-guides will go around to different Residential Halls asking if any freshman need help getting ready for Freshman Convocation.
6:00 PM – 8:00 PM | Freshman Convocation: “Welcome to the Pack”
Agenda: Candlelight ceremony + Wolf Walk banner + official steps into the Wolf Path.

Agenda: New students will meet the Academic Navigators for discussion on time management, organization, study tips, and other tools for success.

Agenda: An interactive panel where freshmen can ask student leaders about their college experience and what it’s like to be in their position.

Agenda: Collaborating and teaming up with MADD Sports and use their platform to influence healthy behaviors on campus, support mental wellness, prevent impaired driving and save lives throughout the Greater Philadelphia Region and beyond.

Agenda: Interactive networking event designed to help freshmen meet others that have the same interests. They will be blindfolded and will rotate every 3-5 minutes with icebreaker questions provided.
