Lamar "Soup" Campbell

Keynote Speaker: Lamar “Soup” Campbell

Lamar C. Campbell is an accomplished NFL executive, former professional football player, and respected leader in player development, scouting, and football operations. Currently serving as Director of Personnel Development and Area Scout for the Seattle Seahawks, he plays a key role in talent evaluation, roster development, and long-term organizational strategy. A Chester, Pennsylvania native, Campbell earned his degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, later adding a master’s and pursuing a PhD in Leadership and Policy Analysis. He spent six seasons in the NFL with the Detroit Lions, building a reputation for preparation, resilience, and professionalism.

Before joining Seattle, Campbell served as Vice President of Player Engagement for the Chicago Bears, where he led initiatives focused on player wellness, career development, and life skills, while also contributing to executive hiring decisions. A Super Bowl champion with the Seahawks, he brings a holistic approach to leadership that blends performance with personal development. Beyond football, he is an advocate for the National Stuttering Association, using his platform to promote confidence, inclusion, and self-advocacy.

Carol Riddick

Special Guest: Carol Riddick

Carol Riddick is a Philadelphia-born singer-songwriter celebrated for her rich vocal style, commanding stage presence, and enduring impact on the city’s musical legacy. She first gained national attention touring with DJ Jazzy Jeff and Will Smith and has since contributed her voice to work associated with acclaimed artists, including Jill Scott, Anthony Hamilton, Musiq Soulchild, Norman Brown, Jeff Bradshaw, Kindred The Family Soul, and Will Downing. In addition to her work as a recording artist and performer, Riddick is a respected mentor and arts advocate who has served in leadership roles with the Recording Academy and supported music education and cultural initiatives across Philadelphia. Her artistry, professionalism, and commitment to community make her a fitting presence for this year’s commencement.
